One hallmark of effective leadership is the strategic implementation of models, practices, policies, and processes that support an environment of inclusive excellence. The upcoming 2024 AKA workshop theme of Addressing Social Justice and Equity Imperatives: Exemplars of Inclusive Excellence will provide members with professional development opportunities to develop this critical strategic leadership skill. The identified workshop speakers are higher education thought leaders, administrators, change agents, and program facilitators who have directly impacted academic environments that exemplify inclusive excellence, social justice, equity, and belonging. Presentations will highlight “real-world” exemplars, practices, and administrative action steps to support student and faculty success, infusing DEI into the kinesiology curriculum, strategic planning, and leadership development. Throughout the workshop, there will be opportunities to engage in conversations and networking with emerging and seasoned administrative leadership from institutions representing a diversity of characteristics, types, and missions.  Themes incorporated into the workshop will include a) Faculty Success, b) Student Success, c) Leadership Development, d) Curriculum, and e) Strategic Planning.

The landmark Albuquerque luxury hotel is conveniently located in the heart of Old Town and the Sawmill District, offering accommodations and amenities, including on-site restaurant and bars, an outdoor resort swimming pool, and more than 62,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting and event space.
